What Is A Ring Doorbell?

A Ring doorbell is the most popular and well known brand of video doorbells. These are the perfect devices for home security as you can see who is at your door at all times, and you will be notified when someone rings the doorbell, or when there is motion detected outside your property.

You can be notified with a Ring doorbell even when you’re not home, and you can watch what is happening outside and around your property at any time so that you always feel that your home is safe and secure.

Of course, the Ring doorbell operates like a normal doorbell, where someone can ring it and you can answer, but there is a video of the person there and you can interact with them without physically answering the door.

The main purpose of a Ring doorbell is to always be able to see who is at your door or who is near and around your property, even when you’re not home.

What Ring Doorbell Products Are Available?

Ring offers a range of products from doorbells to chimes, cameras and alarms. They are the leading brand when it comes to home security. By far the most popular products are the video doorbells such as the basic Ring Video Doorbell and the most advanced Ring Video Doorbell 4. You can also purchase door chimes that rings whenever the doorbell is pressed, so that you can hear it all through the house.

What many people get confused about when buying a Ring Doorbell is which one to get. You can get wired doorbells that connect up to your existing home doorbell system, but you can also get non-wired doorbells.

For many new homes, there may not necessarily be a wired doorbell already there, so many people simply opt for the easy installation version of the Ring Doorbell.

If you do opt for the easy installation version of the Ring Doorbell, then you may be wondering how to install it. Without an existing doorbell, you cannot hardwire the Ring doorbell into the system, and you will need to mount it to your door yourself without the wiring.

Luckily, the easy installation Ring Doorbell is battery powered, so you will need to first charge it up completely, before mounting it to your door or the wall on your porch. To charge the doorbell, you will first have to remove the battery from the bottom of the Ring Doorbell, or remove the back of the Doorbell to plug it in to charge.

Once your Ring Doorbell is plugged into a power source, you will have to wait for the light to turn green instead of orange. This is so the battery is fully charged, which will last for about 6 months before it needs charging up again. Then, you can reattach the battery if your doorbell permits, or place the back of the doorbell back on to the device.

Now, to install the Ring doorbell, you will need to insert the level tool to the front of the Ring device. Then, use this tool to check the positioning of the Ring Doorbell. Most people suggest that you keep the device about 4 feet off the ground for the best visibility.

Once you’ve found the right place, use a pencil to mark where the mounting holes will be on your door or wall. If mounting to the wall, then you will need to use the provided drillbit to make the holes in the brick or concrete.

Then, once the holes are drilled, use the anchors provided and insert them. Next, screw the Ring Doorbell into place and return the faceplate to your ring doorbell. Finally, tighten up the screws and ensure that everything is fitted back into place.

Ring provides the screwdriver and drill bits that you need to use, and keep these safe as you will need them when it comes to taking the doorbell off the wall for recharging purposes. Once your Ring Doorbell is mounted, you can set it up on the Ring App: Apple and Google Play

You can connect the doorbell to your WiFi network and set up notifications for whenever there is motion or someone at your door.
